How much does Descript cost per month?
Hobbyist is $24 a month, Creator $35 and Business $65 when you pay monthly. Descript prices every plan per person, so two people on Creator pay $70 a month.
How much do you save paying yearly?
Descript says yearly billing saves up to 35% over the monthly plan. Here’s what that comes to over twelve months:
| Plan | 12 x monthly | Yearly | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hobbyist | $288 | $192 | $96 |
| Creator | $420 | $288 | $132 |
| Business | $780 | $600 | $180 |
How much is Descript for a team?
Multiply the per-person price by the number of people. Three people on yearly Creator pay $864 a year, and three on yearly Business pay $1,800. Enterprise is priced on request.
Does Descript have a free trial?
Paid plans have no trial. The free plan stands in for one: it has no time limit, needs no card, and comes with 100 one-time AI credits.
Descript education and nonprofit pricing
Students, educators and administrators at accredited schools pay $8 per editor a month billed yearly, or $12 monthly. Registered nonprofits, such as US 501(c)(3) organizations, get the same price. The plan has Hobbyist features and allows up to 3 editor seats per Drive. Over a year that’s $96, half of the $192 that yearly Hobbyist costs.
To apply, sign up with your school or nonprofit email, add a payment method and submit the form. Descript reviews each request by hand (Descript’s help center).
Can you get a Descript referral discount?
Yes, if you’re brand new to Descript and a subscriber refers you. You get $17.50 off: for 2 months on monthly Business, or once on yearly Creator or Business.
Does Descript take promo codes?
Descript’s checkout has an “Add promo code” field. It takes one code per purchase, only on new accounts upgrading from free to paid, and each code works once. None of the codes on coupon sites are confirmed by Descript.
Descript vs Riverside
Riverside’s Pro plan costs $29 a month or $24 a month billed yearly, the same yearly rate as Descript Creator. See Riverside pricing for its full table, or the Riverside promo code page for its trial and discounts.
